Malvern Hills circular walk
Start: Abbey Hotel
Finish: Abbey Hotel
Length: 6.92 km / 4.3 miles
Weather: Sunny but windy.
After a hearty breakfast, we left the hotel and straight into our walk. This was once the gatehouse to Great Malvern's Benedictine priory, and was built c.1480 and is now home to a museum.
After a steep pull up through woods of Happy Valley, the path emerged from the trees and we were treated to our first views of Malvern and the Vale of Evesham.
We took a sharp right at this junction.
Looking north from the path leading to North Hill.
The view from North Hill to the Worcestershire Beacon and Sugar Loaf on the right.
The Beacon is 425 metres (1,394 ft) and the highest point in Worcestershire.
After a walk down, through the woods of Happy Valley, we had a cup of tea at the cafe at St. Ann's Well. unfortunately the advice was to boil the water from the well before drinking it.
On the way down.
The steps leading back to the hotel, before the rain.
Who knew the touch screen was invented in Malvern?
The hotel awaits us.
