This walk was attempted a few years ago from the church, but had to be abandoned as we didn't have the courage to walk through a field of very inquisitive/intimidating steers.

We fuelled ourselves with a Cornish pasty from the NT cafe before setting off on this walk. We left the car park and walked along the path beside the River Valency

Crossing the bridge here will take you on a steep climb to Minster Church, but for this walk there was no need and we just headed along the river path.

At this point the path became narrower and muddier.

We took the left-hand path here.

Most of the walk is in a wooded valley, but as you get closer to the church, there are a couple of fields to cross where the view opens up nicely.

St Julitta's Church, St Juliot, is one of many fine, but isolated churches in the area and predates the Domesday Book.

It was restored between 1870 and 1872 by Thomas Hardy. Here he met his wife-to-be, the vicar's daughter, and wrote 'A Pair of Blue Eyes', about his time spent in the parish
