Turville Circular Walk no.2
Length: 10.36 km/ 6.44 miles
Weather: Very hot and sunny
Back in the land of the Vicar of Dibley and Midsomer Murders, I devised another walk starting and finishing in Turville.
My other Turville walk can be found here: Turville Circular Walk Link
As you walk out of the village, past the school, behind you the windmill can be seen on Turville Hill.
Over the stile and head up hill to Churchfield Wood, seen here on the horizon.
At the top of the hill, bear left and walk along the edge of Churchfield Wood.
Turn right along a path that takes you into Churchfield Wood.
Occasional breaks in the trees in Idlecombe Wood reveal views across the valley to Manor Farm.
Turn right here, through some low branches and walk down the steps.
Climb over the stile at the edge of Idlecombe Wood and walk across the field towards Holloway Lane and Turville Wood.
Holloway Lane. The last time I was here was in autumn.
Views across the valley from the track past Northend Farm.
Poppies in the meadow just before entering Hale Wood.
Near the top of a steep section in Great Wood.
A passageway not built for amply-proportioned people.
Another passageway, but this time slightly more accommodating.
Walk along the lane, on the grass verge towards the school.
Cross the road and head into Park Wood.
Once out of Park Wood the beautiful views open up towards Idelcombe Wood, Churchfield Wood and the Turville Valley.
The final stretch across the fields with Turville's rooftops amongst the trees and hedges.
