Christmas Common circular walk
Start: Christmas Common
Finish: Christmas Common
Length: 11.4 km / 7 miles
Weather: Hot and sunny
On a hot summer's day, I couldn't work out why I didn't see anybody else out walking. It was only when I got home I realised England had played Panama in the World Cup.
At the start of the walk in Shotridge Wood.

Not sure whose Ha Ha and Grecian Urn this is, the house isn't marked on the map.

Go across the road and through the gate.

Then across the field.

Cross the lane and into the field. Great Wood can be seen in the distance.

Greater Knapweed.

Turn right after the stile and follow this long, straight bridleway.

Cross over the lane and into the wood.

Walk up hill through, what looks like a holloway, towards Northend Farm.

This redundant bus shelter, now a community hub, provided welcome shade for my lunch break.

A short section of lane walking.

A stile appears in the hedge after a short while, on the right.

This leads downhill, through a wood to Turville Park Farm.

Turn left at Turville Park Farm and walk through the fields.

The path that leads up to Hollandridge Lane.

Hollandridge Lane. I thought this might have been a green lane, which would have been gentler on the feet.

The Church of the Nativity, through the bushes at Christmas Common.
