Hammersmith river stroll
Length: 4.04 km / 2.5 miles
Weather: Hot and sunny.
This is a short, brisk walk that can be done in your lunch hour, that is if you work in Hammersmith. The only limiting factor is that you reach a point where you have to abruptly turn around in order to get back to work on time.
Walking down to the Thames Path beside Hammersmith Bridge.
On the Upper Mall looking downstream.
The passage that leads to the Dove. Various historical figures have been associated with the pub including Graham Greene, Ernest Hemingway, Dylan Thomas and William Morris, who lived next door.
The William Morris Society, founded in 1955. It has never been open when I have walked past it as it has limited opening times.
The rowing clubs crows nest.
Further along the path is the Olde Ship and the Black Lion. The latter has a skittles alley and apparently a ghost.
Blue plaque number 1.
Blue plaque number 2. However, there maybe others I have missed.
