Chiswick and Barnes river ramble
Start: Corney Reach
Finish: Corney Reach
Length: 8.04 km/5 miles
Weather: Sunny
This is another variation on the other walks along the Thames using the E3 bus.
From Corney Reach, looking up-river towards Hammersmith.
It was a sunny, colourful autumn morning.
This parked outside the Mari deli and is decorated according to the season.
Near to the Black Lion pub.
The Old Ship is probably my favourite pub on this section of the walk, as it seems more spacious.
On the other hand, The Dove is more characterful, but harder to get a seat due to it's size.
There are lots of rowing clubs here on the Thames.
Looking back to Hammersmith, having walked across the rickety, old bridge.
Craven Cottage, which has sadly been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons.
I turned off the Thames here and headed 'in-land' towards Barnes.
Previously, I have only driven through Barnes, but it is a beautiful 'village' full of gems.
Unfortunately this shop was closed.
Olympic Studios is where Led Zeppelin recorded their first album and Jimi Hendrix recorded Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland. The Stones recorded 6 albums here. Other albums recorded here include Who's Next, Diamond Dogs, Quadrophenia, A Night at the Opera and A Whiter Shade of Pale.
Shed Zeppelin.
Taken from the railway Barnes bridge.
The Promenade, heading towards the bandstand.
